Cookie management – how to express and withdraw consent in practice?
What are cookies? Cookies are small files that are saved and stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone while you visit various websites on the Internet. A cookie usually contains the name of the website from which it comes, the “lifespan” of the cookie (i.e. how long it exists), and a randomly generated unique number used to identify the browser from which the website is connected.
- In connection with providing access to our site and its content, the MIFLEX Solutions website (www.miflexsolutions.com), uses cookies, i.e. information saved by servers on the user’s end device, which servers can read each time the end device connects, and may also use other technologies with functions similar or identical to cookies. In this document, information on cookies also applies to other similar technologies used within our websites. Cookies (so-called “cookies”) are computer data, in particular text files, which are stored on the end device of the user of the MIFLEX Solutions website. Cookies usually contain the name of the domain of the website from which they originate, the time of their storage on the end device and a unique number.
- Cookies are used for the following purposes:
- adapting website page content to the user’s preferences and optimising the use of websites; in particular, these files allow the recognition of the website user’s device and appropriately displaying the website, tailored to their individual needs,
- creating statistics that help understand how website users use websites, which allows for improving their structure and content,
- maintaining the website user’s session (after logging in), thanks to which the user does not have to re-enter their login and password on each subpage of the website,
- providing users with advertising content that is more tailored to their interests.
- MIFLEX Solutions may use the following types of cookies when accessing its website and content:
- “essential” cookies, enabling the use of services available on the website, e.g. authentication cookies used for services requiring authentication on the website,
- cookies used to ensure security, e.g. used to detect abuses in the scope of authentication on the website,
- cookies, enabling the collection of information on how the website pages are used,
- “functional” cookies, enabling the “remembering” of settings selected by the user and personalization of the user interface, e.g. in terms of the selected language or region from which the user comes, font size, appearance of the website, etc.,
- “advertising” cookies, enabling the provision of advertising content to users that is more tailored to their interests.
- In many cases, the software used to browse websites (an internet browser) allows cookies to be stored on the user’s end device by default. Users of the website can change the cookie settings at any time. These settings can be changed in particular to block the automatic handling of cookies in the settings of the internet browser or to inform about each time they are placed on the user’s device of the internet service. Detailed information about the possibilities and methods of handling cookies is available in the software settings (of the internet browser). Failure to change the cookie settings means that they will be placed on the user’s end device, and thus we will store information on the user’s end device and gain access to this information.
- Disabling the use of cookies may make it difficult to use some services on our websites, especially those requiring logging in. Disabling the option to accept cookies does not, however, prevent you from reading or viewing content posted on the MIFLEX Solutions website, except for those that require logging in.
- Cookies may be placed on the end device of the MIFLEX Solutions website user and then used by advertisers cooperating with the website, research companies and multimedia application providers.
- If the user does not wish to receive cookies, they may change their browser settings. Please be aware that disabling the use of cookies necessary for authentication, security, and maintaining user preferences may make it difficult, and in extreme cases may even prevent the use of www pages.
